    1997 hull question

New to this forum and have the opportunity to buy a 1997 closed bow ski nautique. I have heard alot about the TSC hulls and how good they are. I have also been reading conflicting reports about when this hull actually came out into production.
So do all 1997 ski nautiques come with the TSC hull?

Also this will be my first true ski boat and would there be anything to specifically look for with this boat before I buy besides the usual engine oil, transmission oil, compression, etc...

    Thanks for the help.

I don't know the specific answer to your first question, but have never heard of a 1997 SN sporting other than the TSC hull (there was the 176 from that year that was a closed bow, but that's not what I think of when I hear SN).

As for what to look for, this is something I and others put together several years ago. It was very helpful when I was looking over my 98 Ski.

    Good luck.

All 1997 Ski Nautiques were the TSC 1 hull. In 1998, they started putting TSC1 decals on the boats.

The serial number on the boat will be CTC 70xxx "some letter" y 97

The three "x" after the 70 are the boats number, "some letter" is a letter indicating the month the boat was made (A=January, L=December)
y is the year the boat made, could be a 6 or a 7 and 97, is the model year.

My 1997 Ski Nautique serial number is CTC 70344 J697.
It was made in October of 1996,

For what it is worth, I took delivery of my boat in mid November of 1996.
