I have no idea who or when the platform appeared. I just thought it was a good question.

So CC made a model called the American Skier that was the predecessor to the SN? THey're still around under the same name? Hey, they have bikinis in their ads!

They were made by correct craft and then sold off. In the last couple of years, the company name changed to Elan Boats when Ben Favret bought them. They have bikinis in their ads because Correct Craft has nothing to do with them anymore.

First Ski nautique was designed by Leo Bentz in 1961. It replaced the Mustang. Correct Craft first produced The Ski Nautique in a year later in 1962. Prior to the Mustang it was the Atom and the Tournament Skier. Is it obvious that I'm a new owner who just read parting the waters?

Here is a fully restored 1955 Atom Skier for sale that looks pretty nice for the price.

SGY, I bought an 05' ski 206. It's the yellow and black one on the top line of the Members' boats photo page.

My understanding is that the American Skier was based on the Mustang hull, if it not the same hull. Interior finishes were different though.
