Kateye57, I also just bought a 96 Supersport with the GT-40. I won`t be taking delivery on it until late April, hopefully the ice will be gone by then!!! I went ahead and had the dealer mount a Monster Tower on it, my kids also are into wakeboarding. Would love to hear more about what you got.

Rocket,
Before I bought my 1995 a couple of the promo guys told me to avoid the 1994 FI claiming reliability issues. After buying my 95 I ran into a guy one day that had a boat that looked exactly like mine except it was a 94. While were commenting about each other's boats he asked me what kind of fuel economy I was seeing. Seemed like he was using significantly more fuel then I was (like 12gph vs 8gph). He also complained about performance issues. I also know of one instance that a 1994 FI engine was replaced with a GT-40 after lots of performance issues and threats of lawsuit. There a couple guys here that speak highly of the 94FI motor but the GT-40 is the true proven performer.

The 94 EFI motor, prior to the advent of the GT-40, was a mixed bag. If it is right, you won't find a faster inboard on the lake. It smokes. If its wrong, it's a pain in the a$$. PCM used a too aggressive fuel delivery and the thing runs too rich--from what I was told. PCM did come out with a fix in late 94, however. The reason I know this is I was also looking at a 94 SNOB. The boat was in great shape and the owner indicated not problems with the motor.
Personally, I would stay away from that motor unless you are very sure that the PCM fix was done and it runs good. In regard to the latter, I would take it to the lake several times in different conditions and at different times before you decide to buy.

The 94 was throtle(sp?) body FI which means the fuel was injected into the manifold just behind the throtle plate. One injector very much like a carb. Just with electronic control. In 95 they went to the multiport injection. 1 injector per cylinder. Better fuel mixing and more effiency. The throtle body ran well when warmed up and was fast. It also used alot more fuel. When cold or with changes in altitude it could be finicky.Nautiqueless in San Diego
