Curious which boat you would choose to buy?

I am looking to get a boat for this summer. Moved from the east cost where I was a big surfer, and my son likes to wakeboad, so looking for a boat that can do both.

    First one is 1989 2001 http://onlyinboards.com/Details.aspx?ID=26451

    Second is 1987 2001 http://onlyinboards.com/Details.aspx?ID=26434

    Thirst is sport http://onlyinboards.com/Details.aspx?ID=26505

Fourth is also 89 sport http://onlyinboards.com/Details.aspx?ID=25953

Curious on the your thoughts usually have four people on boat at a time on the 2001's I have talked to dealer that serviced them and they have assured me the boats are in ready to ride shape, and have no issues, with floors.

I would get a sport over a 2001 any day.

My friend has a sport like the third one you posted, the fixed platform on the sport ruins the surf capability. But it is a great boat…just may want to stick with a boat that has a different platform for surfing.

Doesn't that model also get "swamped" over the transom easily? i.e. water in the boat after a fast stop

My Gekko was the same way, but I learned to control it. I absolutely loved the integrated platform with that one exception. I don't know anything (yet) about surfing, though.

That being said, a big difference for me is the Sports have open bows. With a DD, the rear seat is unusuable when skiing so if you have a slightly larger crowd, the bow seating comes in very handy. But I do love the look of the second one (black 2001). The 92 Sport doesn't have a tower, so you'll need to add one for the wakeboarding.

My vote is #2. It's the prettiest and looks to be the cleanest.

The second one is really an '86 not '87. Regardless, that is what I would choose.

            Good Luck!

Another vote for #2. It looks clean, has low hours, and has a tower for your wakeboarder. Plus it's not that far of a drive for you... win, win, win.

I may be biased though, as I'd never own a DD sport.

I'd watch the 89-92 Sports. I've heard of issues plus I think they look weird.

IMO you can't go wrong with a 2001, i think the 88-89 are the best. Might check to see if you can find a Excel or Barefoot Nautique v drive. The BF just had a 454.

Looks like you are in the 10-11K range. Good range. If you can go a little more I'd tried to find a 93+ Sport DD. Completely different boat. There is a great 1996 out on the site for 15.9K Nice looking boat.

Try this one also. Same hull as the 89
