New Radio / Amp Mounting Thoughts

I bought this boat about 3 weeks ago... Have a put a lot of work into.

I am getting ready for the system.

I covered the old radio hole up with a seat I am working on, and added a wall down by the drivers seat that was missing.

I am looking at having 2 or 3 amps in the boat.

What have some others done for amp racks and stereo mounting in an older boat.

Here are some before after pics of driver and passenger. It's not finished yet, but getting closer

that year boat didn't have a hole in the dash for a radio or a radio at all and the panel was never there from the factory FYI. You've added non-orginal seating so it really doesn't matter too much what you do with the rest of it.

IMO the current opening was probably the best location for the stereo. Your only options other tha nthat are to mount it verticle in the top of the dash, or if using an remote input you could put it under the bow somewhere.

As for amps, I'd glass a piece of plywood to either side of the bow to use as mounting locations. Or use the back of the seat you made.

Clarion has a unit (not sure what name of it is) but it the head unit is mountable away from everything, ie, mount it next to your amps on the side of the boat under the bow, and it works everything of a dash remote that fits in a gauge hole. Uses a cord to hook up you iPod for access
