spoke with the dealer today and they charge 200$ and 5% of sale price. sounds pretty good to me. they do alot of net advertising and are in a good location for my type boat. and they take care of any financing and everything as well. sound good or no?

Why not try and sell it yourself first? When priced completive and advertised well it won't take long. I sold my previous boat in 4 days with 8 interested parties. All it takes is a good price and some work on the web.1997 Ski Nautique

That not too bad if you dont want to deal with the sales call, etc. on your own. There are some places that charge up to 10% which can add up quick on some of these boats. You have to think though about the time it takes to show a boat to someone, take it to the lake for a test drive, talk on the phone answering questions, etc. Plus, many times at a dealership they can handle the financing aspect that a private seller cant. At the dealer I worked for we would charge 10% up to $1,500.
I would try it for yourself at first, it could mean more money you get out of selling the boat and its a great time to sell with the weather warming up.2010 Super Air 230

Plus if you are buying a new boat from your dealer, some states they can show your sale to be a trade and you only pay sales tax on the difference. That can be a major $$$ savings when we are talking about $50K-$100K boats...Current Nautique: 2013 G23
