    Larson's no longer selling Nautique

FYI... Was at the Sac boat show and was notified that as of about a week ago, Larson's Marine in Sac & Stockton will no longer be selling Nautiques... Looks like Central Valley Marine (San Jose) will be the closest dealer at the moment. They also mentioned that CC will not allow them to do warrantee work...

Yes, Nautique has really pretty much abandon the California market... Even Central Valley is primarily a Malibu dealer.

The Portland, Or. Nautique dealer is closing also.

There is still a few parts there, and some other stuff.

They also have a 2011 Ski Nautique open bow 200 for a very good price.
Call Bruce Berg about the price.

I spoke to Larson today. They no longer are a Nautique dealer, but they still service Nautique boats. Service Department told me that they still are being instructed by Nautique to submit warranty claims, and that those claims are being approved. I was told that they understand their obligations to folks who bought Nautiques through them, and that they "intend to take care of their customers."

          I'm crossing my fingers.

RexB-just sent you a PM. Another option for warranty work is Bob at Superior Boat Repair.

On a side note, I went to the Los Angeles boat show last weekend and noticed Nautique was not there. The old California Correct Craft (now Green House) was there with Centurion and the new CC dealer (Sun Country) had a ton of boats, but no Nautiques.

I actually spoke to one of the Sun Country sales guys about this. They wanted to bring in a couple of boats, but the show wanted to charge them for another space. I don't know if you noticed, but Sun Country had by far the largest display at the show. The show was getting greedy. But it certainly was disappointing to not have Nautique represented at the LA boat show for the second year in a row.

On a side note, Green House Marine (formerly California Correct Craft) is still authorized to do warranty work for CC. Eddie and Mack are still there so the quality and service will be outstanding!

In Arizona they switched from a family owned dealer who has been in business since 1979 to a new dealer. I don't understand the switch at all and will continue to use the old dealership for everything that I can.

That's the same thing that happened in CA and like you, I will continue to use the prior dealer for everything.

I wrote a personal letter to Bill Yeargin expressing my dissatisfaction, but it all comes down to business, not the customers who are loyal to the brand.

BTW, Bill did respond to me. He essentially told me sorry, but the change needed to be made for business purposes. I believe the new dealer committed to buying 8-10 new boats the day they signed their contract. One more thing, the new dealer has never sold inboards/tow boats of any sort. They sell pontoon boats and yachts.

But fortunately, I can still use the old dealer for all of my service needs.

There are more getting axed from what I have heard. Nautique is chasing the quick dollar and driving some of the best dealers out of the brand. Pretty pathetic if you ask me.

What is scary is that CC thinks price has nothing to do with it. Larson stopped buying Cc because they keep raising their price. They looked at a 23 foot boat and could not justify $25,000-$30,000 between CC charges and what Malibu charges. Central Valley also picked up Malibu for the same reason.

In Arizona, Century Marine looked a lot like the original Correct Craft business model- very family orientated. So I guess the Nautique corporate sell out is nearing completion- ridding themselves of the faithful family dealerships and going to the bigger financed outfits. It will come back to bite them. These newer dealers change brands like they change their shirts, put nothing into the local boat/boarding/skiing community, don't have the experienced service staff, and don't know the product as well. The brand is reflected by who is selling it. In Arizona they didn't just shoot themselves in the foot, they cut their leg off.

I have always had the opinion that buying a boat is not the same as buying a car, it is not just another commodiy. Sometimes you may have other options in getting service, but I would never consider buying a boat from a dealer that didn't have my complete trust and that I felt good about the relationship.
