TX Folk.... Lake Limestone???

Has anyone ever been to Lake Limestone? My parents were looking at getting a place there because of the proximity to Houston, but I do know any info on the lake?

I have been out there several times (friends family have a lake house on the west side near the dam) It has some protected water and very little traffic during the week. The ramp on the west side of the dam is very shallow when the water is low (most of the summer).
