nautic Laugic Perfect Pass - GPS Paddlewheel Feed - Stargazer Upgrade alternative??

I have a 2006 SANSE 210 with Perfect Pass. I was considering the Stargazer Upgrade but found the nautic Laugic GPS alternative. Has anyone tried it? I think I need the nautic Laugic NL4-PP upgrade but am not positive.

This kit is about half of what the Stargazer Upgrade kit costs. Does anyone have any experience with this product or company?

This is the Perfect Pass I have, I'm not sure which it is. I do know that the Master Module says DBW on the front, which I think means drive by wire.

DBW is indeed drive by wire.

The ebay reviews seem positive. I have been considering this as well. I would email the company. They have been very good about responding to my emails so far (typically same day).

Yes, that what it means... the wire part implies a wiring harness, not a throttle cable or wire.

Isn't it Throttle by Wire? Driving would be the rudder.

I think it is officially "Digital Throttle Control" ...need to look at the white lake decal section to be sure.

Like I said, my Perfect Pass Master Module says DBW, which according to them stands for "Drive by Wire".

Drive by wire, is like "fly by wire" in avionics terms. It means that the control mechanism is electrical, not mechanical.

If you still use a paddlewheel, I think it should still work, but check with the company.

Is that an ignition KEY in the dash? And what about the dash right side switches? Are those mechanical switches? Is there no keypad? Thanks!

Crobi, that was kinda funny. My son's ski coach told him not to let go of the handle when jumping or he would be rolling down the windows. Went completely over my son's head. He had never seen a car with roll down windows.

Okay. So you are right and PP is wrong.

Yeah, I guess I'm kind of a basic guy. I just graduated from a '77 SeaRay that I put the floor and engine in about 10 years ago. It's got a perfect pass that I put in in 2005 with a paddle wheel. Our new boat (2000 SAN) came with the stargazer upgrade already in it so I have been watching this thread to see if I can learn anything new about perfect pass.

Anyway, when I saw a key and manual switches in a nautique dash I was like "Wow - I might want that!" because I am having a hard time imagining dropping near $400 for an electronic keypad if you could just put a key and some switches in to run your bilge, blower and nav lights. I've already put in a separate panel to run all of my ballast stuff.

Sorry, didn't mean to highjack the thread...

anyone actually try the Nautic Laugic GPS Paddlewheel Feed yet??

Bumping this back up. I'm wondering if anyone purchased the Nautic Laugic GPS unit to replace the paddle wheel on PP Wakeboard Pro and if so, what they think of the product. At $250, this is the cheapest of the GPS upgrades that I'm looking at for our 2007 211 TE w/PP Wakeboard Pro. The Stargazer upgrade is $500 and the Zero Off system is $1,290 and isn't really in the running at that price unless I were to hear some really glowing reports of how much better it is than Stargazer.

In the FAQ's on the Nautic Laugic site they admit that their product is not the equivalent of Stargazer because Stargazer uses a mix of GPS and RPM's to optimize performance while this will only use GPS data to replace the paddle wheel signal. I'm wondering if that would make a huge difference (or at least $250 worth of difference). I haven't been impressed with Wakeboard Pro and the paddle wheel, so I think either would be an improvement over what I have now. There's a 30 day money back guaranty, so it might be worth checking out, but just wanted to see if anyone had actually tried it first or if anyone had done the Stargazer upgrade and what they thought.

I don't think this works with DBW systems, which I thought yours was. Ask the guy at NauticLaugic, he responds quickly.

I just installed it in my older SAN over the weekend, but so far just to the Faria speedo gauge. I don't have a PP or alternative yet. Installation was a breeze.
