I just installed it in my older SAN over the weekend, but so far just to the Faria speedo gauge. I don't have a PP or alternative yet. Installation was a breeze.
It will work with DBW, if you currently already have Perfect Pass. All this system does is trick your Perfect Pass system, and replaces the paddle wheel with a GPS receiver. Perfect Pass still thinks it has a paddle wheel.

Have you tried running in RPM mode? I've never been able to get a PP set up to works well with the hydrofoils, there isn't much strain and the all the sudden its huge and then gone. The PP doesn't seem to react fast enough and the load is gone by the time it does so it over shoots. We use RPM mode even with the Stargazer and it pretty much sticks within a half mph in either direction and doesn't surge.

RPM mode is certainly beneficial in many situations. My PP on my old 99 Air was RPM only, and I loved the pull for wakeboarding too, especially around corners.
