xmd1 upgrade

looking for something new in my 2003 SANTE. I read a previous post about the ipod hook up and made it but sound only comes out of side of the boat. i would like to upgrade the deck, remote, and 4-6 speakers in the seats. any suggestions on good sound but on a budget. really looking to control ipod from drivers seat with in-dash remote.

i changed mine out to the clarion cmd5, mainly for two reasons. 1) the modification to the existing hole was minimal and 2) i was able to hook up the new wired remote without having to run a new wire for it ... ive been happy with it, does fine with mp3 players and discs burnt with mp3 files

If you decide to change head units, I would be glad to take your XMD1 off of your hands! The previous owner of my boat removed all of the radio equipment. I tried to find an XMD1 before settling for a Sony CDX-HS70MW. I would like to get my boat back to the stock look, just for originality.
