    Engine options - 2003 196

Going to look at a boat w/friend tomorrow. What are all the possible engine options. Another friend said base engine was 305 Cu in V-8, I would prefer 350/351.

Does anyone know all the engine size and HP options from that era?

    Thanks.

I think they were out of Fords (351's) sometime in the 02 year range, but I might be wrong. Most likely 5.0 at 275 hp, or 5.7 at 330 hp, if memory serves corectly. The brochure is probably on the cc fan site.

Seems like my dealer would always order a few price point boats equiped with the 275 base motor. I've skied behind one and it was plenty for our slalom course and cruising the lake. You could always use it as a bargaining chip.

Here's the link to the Engine Option page from the 2003 brochure: http://www.correctcraftfan.com/refer...ex.asp?page=35

5.0 / 275hp was standard on the SE, and 5.7 / 330hp was standard on the LE and TE.

Thanks guys. We passed on the boat, turns out different people have different definitions to "GREAT CONDITION". In this case, seller's definition included gel wore to the glass on the keel in a few spots, many knicks in the emblems, many nicks on the pinstriping, and the most dock rashed rubrail (plastic base, not just the rubber in the middle) I've ever seen on a boat. Plus a prop needing reconditioning, and a worse one in the trunk, and some knicks out of the front skeg.

        Search continues.

Dave - I'll drop your flusher thing off on the way home from work tomorrow.

NCH2oSki - Very jealous of your location - hope to be there someday. You can probably ski there now, instead of having solid water still...

Great condition is subject to different levels I guess, but I know exactly what you mean. Nothing more frustrating than wasting a day looking at a beat up boat thats supposed to be in great condition. Good luck on your search!

We started skiing a couple weeks ago, water was low 60's air was upper 70's and low 80's. Last week I thought we moved to MI, we almost didnt see 55 degrees.

Where in Mi? My employer's us office is in Holland MI. Nice place to visit during the week of summer they have.
