Also, did anybody catch what gas mileage they got in Miami? Or on the cross country treks? Wonder if they're hiding that for a reason??

First, I'm not sure why the F150, Sierra 1500, and Dodge 1500 are still called 1/2 ton trucks, The payload for nearly every truck is 1900 lbs or more. The towing rating can be up to 10-13000 lbs. Diesels of 15 years ago did not have those type numbers.
I have had a few turbo Volvo cars. The low boost (5 lbs) car got decent gas mileage, the higher boost (15 lbs) was not that great. In my experience, having a turbo and using it, the mileage suffers greatly. No matter what the dyno graft charts, I doubt I would try a boosted 6 for at least 3 years of real world feedback.

I have the new Ecoboost engine in my 2011 F150. You will love it if that is what you choose.
Even though it is a V6, it is actually a better towing motor than all the big V8's offered by any manufacture. Even in a crew cab with 4x4, it is still rated to tow 11,300lbs. Ford also has the new backup camera that will help you hitch your trailer, I can have my trailer hitched in about 30 seconds by myself.

What's with the offset license plate? Is that your choice or their new location?

Funny, I just traded my '08 3/4 ton suburban with the 6.0L for a F150 with the ecoboost. I towed my 230 from san Antonio to Dallas on Monday with the sub. I got 7 miles to the gallon and the truck struggled the entire trip. I haven't towed with the F150, just got it yesterday. Given the amount of torque available at low rpms, no doubt it will tow better than the sub. I'm pretty impressed with the products ford is bringing out.
Dump the diesel and go with the ecoboost. You will love the way it drives.

Just an FYI I have an '06 226 with an Extreme dual axel trailer and I have towed from San Diego to northern Montana and on that trip the boat was completely full with luggage, ice chests, etc. with a 2008 Sequoia 4x4 5.7 and averaged about 9 miles per gallon at 80 (I don't want to hear the critics). With this car I have plenty of power and tow in California at about 70 on the FWY at pretty low RPM.
I have also towed with a 2006 Tundra 4.? and noticed a huge difference moving up to the new motor in the Sequoia.
Lastly, I test drove a new F-150 w/ Ecoboost and if I buy a new truck then thats the one I'm buying. Super smooth with great torque. This thing will drag your 230 anywhere you want to go and run circles around your Suburban.
Have Fun!
Matt

The ride is great. The FX4 has a little bit more of a sporty ride. The lariat feels slightly more cushy but the ride is still so much better than I have had in the past.
The noise level on these things is almost dangerous. It is so quiet that driving 60mph feels like 40mph. The only wind noise you hear is slightly over the rearview mirrors. It also has electric fans. The turbos are audible but nothing like a diesel's.
The dealership I do business with is putting the ecoboost engine in about 50% of their trucks if you exclude the work trucks. All the customers love them.

2010 Tundra Platinum 4x4 Crew Cab. Tow my 236 through the hills and pass passenger cars going up steep grades no problem. Bonuses besides the power: smallest turning circle of any full sized 4 door and front SONAR makes city driving a breeze.

You make a great point; the turning radius on the tundra/sequoia is unreal! Mine also has the parking assist but I find it to sensitive to be useful.
