What do you think about this area? Of course it will have the black lines in the grooves and around the edges.
I say Teak it out!!! Maybe CC will take notice. Love it anywhere I can get it.

Looks great! I also would like to see the bottom, from jsut the top view it looks like it would weigh a ton.

The bottom view is nothing and can't tell anything, it's just solid and flat and ugly where I had to patch. What we did was run a 3" thick (from top to bottom looking at it from the side) piece of solid teak from the back of the brace all the way out to about 2" from the tip of the platform. That piece of teak is only as wide as the bracket. Then we cut a grove in each one of the big pieces (from the first pictures) and enset them. This way in the open spaces we could secure the platfrom from two different angle, from the bottom side in the factory holds and from the side all the way down.
Sounds funky but I will get some more pictures Friday which may show how we did it.

are most of those slats just grooves in the big chunk? or are they seperate slats you screwed to support underneath? not sure if that question makes sense. I see what you did to attach it to the brackets, very cool. i am wondering how you attached all those intricate pieces in the middle. is it a solid piece underneath that you screwed them to? sorry for all the questions, I love it.

It's an extra board, cut thin.

Look at the picture attached, Platform-05 copy.jpg and Platform-03 copy.jpg2 ,that is how it was built with support. The center hole, the one with the design, is part of the original piece of wood. We made the design in the middle then planed the board down to the design area. Once that was done and everything was tied in, meaning all the edges were in place and nothing could no longer be changed as fair as length and width goes, we placed panels in between the boards.

We then cut 3/4" pieces, after they were planed down, to fit around each one of the cut out designs. See the picture named Platform-06 copy.jpg (maybe 4th picture) That is a flat piece, we just run a table saw down the board every inch or so wide about 1/4" deep so we could later lay in that black epoxy for ascetics.

Looking at the final picture, do you see all those little holes in each section? Those are screw holes just covered up with little bungholes of wood and glued in.

No sir, she probably weights less than the original composite platform, or close to it I should say.

Did you ever think about just replacing those areas with the new SeaDeck material that is on the 2011s? May be a good fix for some of the curved areas....

I've seen that new stuff but to be honest, no, it didn't cross my mind. Our local dealer just, within the past two weeks, placed the sano pads on the transom area. We just got bored and decided to lay down teak. The book is easy to work with and bend once you've planed it down. It curved into place like foam.

Here is what the rear of her ended up looking like.

Sorry for the kind of bad picture, dang cell phone. I'll get some more later on with my good camera.

That looks amazing. Do you ride on Allatoona? Maybe we'll run into you so I can check out the craftsmanship.

Yes sir I do; we are out riding mostly on the week day afternoons or early on weekend mornings. Hollar at us if you see us.
We are always in and out of Park Marina, since we keep it there.
