That's a lot of fill hose. If you end up with extra, which you should, send me a pm. I'm going to need some. Also, if you ever chose to, you absolutely can run two johnsons off a 1" thru hull. Mine uses a low profile nipple and traditional elbow (not a street) which gives you a little extra inside diameter, but if you measure the inside diameter of that street elbow and calculate the area of that circle, it should still be more than the area of 2 half inch circles (the pumps inside diameter).

    Good luck with the install!

Thanks, I wasn't sure how much to buy, but since it is currently on sale for $.99/ft & $1.49/ft... I couldn't go wrong. Rather have extra than come up short. I might just keep the extra because I will eventually add a second and possibly a third Pump to the system and remove the manifold... I just didnt have an extra $300! But when I do, I will definitely add a second intake and need more line anyway. Check out WakeMAKERS... the price is right for premium hose right now! Johnson Pumps and Switches are all on sale! I need to determine the best location for the thru hull.. and plan for 1-2 more.... I havent looked yet, but I think on bottom, back near the rudder maybe?

The 1" Thru hull is rated at 2200 GPH.. Thats theoretically three Johnsons at 720GPH each...

          Hey Wake_fun,

You only run 1 intake dont you, 1" for 3 pumps? Does that supply enough water for all three pumps or is the intake the weakest link? (ie: would you get more flow rate with another intake)? I guess hard to determine without a flow meter....

Oh, I'm a big fan of Wakemakers already. I used them for my install last year, and will be using them for my install this year too on my new boat. I hear you about the hose... it is better to have more than not enough, and you are right, it's priced great right now. I already bought my 3 Johnsons and switches for my new install. I just need a few fittings, bags, and some more hose.

Here is the math on volume:

1/2" intake on pump has a volume of 0.785 square inches
            1" thru-hull has a volume of 3.14 square inches

As such, in theory, a 1" thru-hull is more than 3x the volume of a pump and should in theory be able to keep up with 3 pumps (in fact it should exactly equal enough for 4 pumps). However, the more angles you have in the line between the through-hull and the pumps, the more turbulence you get, and the further away you get from theoretical volumes. If one has very few angles in their lines, one could probably get away with running 3 Johnson or Jabsco pumps off of 1 1" thru-hull without missing a beat. But if you have a lot of angles in there (think 90 degree hose barbs) before the pumps, then you probably need a second thru-hull. I would be very interested to hear about anyone's experience running 3 pumps simultaneously off a single 1" thru-hull.

I use a 1.5" thru hull fitting. It is good for all three!
