Replacing rope in rub rail, what size?

I am going to replace the rope in my rub rail and wanted to use black, does anyone know what size it is? Any idea where to get in black? Thanks.

You can also use a solid colored filler instead of the rope to update your boat, that's what I would do. I think it is 3/8" but I am not sure.

We are going replace the rubrail with blue ropelight. I don't remember any of the numbers, but 3/8" sounds familiar when I asked about it.

Sorry to hijak this, but I remember the rope light is a little thinner than the rubrail. Does anyone have an idea of what to fill in the empty space with if this is at all possible or is there a better idea out there???

How about encasing it in a thin acrylic tube?

Measure the length of the old rope you pull out and buy a peice 10' longer to install. You will have a little extra left, otherwise you may find yourself short.

10 feet. Several folks I have spoke with initially used 3 feet extra and still ended up short.

                      rubrail

I pulled my black rubrail from my superair last summer, you can have it if you pay for shipping. Its in pretty good condition, let me know soon.

                      Mike

shipping would probably be around 12-15 dollars?

Anyone have a source for rubrail in different colors? My tower, speakers, etc are gold (tan) and I would love to install a tan rubrail. . .

                          rubrail

ask your local dealer, I put in red rubrail in my superair, to match my boat. I think the dealer can order colors?
