    Sport 200 surfing?

The new sport 200 seems to be selling well. It seems the ski wake is everything it was supposed to be but has anyone surfed behind one yet with stock ballast?? Any new owners out there that can comment on some pros and cons?

    Thanks

I actually got to spend some time behind the Sport 200, the surf wake was way better than I expected stock! It was a little short and steep but overall super fun and could only get better with more ballast or people! The ski wake was also everything I expected. Here are some pics. This was just with starboard ballast and bow full with 2-3 people on surf side.

Whew... I was about to punch the guy who taught me, "p" for passenger, and the driver is the "star" so starboard is driver side.

There'll be a 200 Sport at the Green Lake reunion this summer, and I'm pumped to check it out. We'll set the 'ol "its slalom wake is as good as a 196" rumor to rest;-) But seriously, there's something about this boat that I just flat out dig. If I had a wife and kids...?

Is there only rear tanks in the sport 200 , no mid ship ballast? Have you ever surfed behind a Malibu VTX? Its probably its closest competitor just curious. Thanks

there is midship/bow ballast, Im not sure exactly how many lbs each tank is.

The Website says 736lbs in total ballast. So I would guess port 250, starboard 250, and front 230ish? But I have never surfed, skied, or rode behind the VTX but I have heard good things. Seems to be a good crossover! But I must say the Sport 200 is awesome.Ski wake was great at 34'mph, and wakeboard wake was very well shaped and with more ballast it has some great potential! Again out of the box surf wake was awesome too and can only get better with more ballast! I was very pleased with the boat.

i was always taught port and left each have 4 letters so port=left.

So you were surfing with the mid tank full as well or just one rear tank?

I'm surprised NOBODY on this site has a 200 Sport yet. Anybody??? Especially with the comment about them selling well.

We started with the back surf side full, and mid at half, and then filled the mid to full and it helped make the wave a little longer. I would really like to get a chance to throw more weight in the boat though and really see what its capable of.

I have one but unfortunately our lakes just thawed out so we're probably another 2-3 weeks from dropping it in the water.
