For those who have read my posts on here you will understand that I had decided to go down to the factory and see my boat come off the line. Me and my wife arrived at the Factory in the morning this past Monday. We were warmly greeted by Ron Nace (Customer Care Manager) who I have spoken with many times on the phone about my previous boat. The tour of the plant started with step one right through to the finished product...my boat!!! The plant is very well organized and layed out. I never realized that there are so many people and steps that it takes to put a boat together. Allot of the building is done by hand. The workers in that plant impressed me the most. They were all working very hard and are really the best professional people you could ask for and count on to build Nautiques. You can't have a quality product come off the line without quality people building it especially with the workmanship required to build these boats. Ron spent the time not only to explain how the boats are made but also what improvements were made over the years on the line. Ron's presence was felt by the workers who often smiled or said hi to him as we visited each station. It felt to me like it's a close company where the workers and management have a common goal. Before the tour I had viewed my boat and it looked awesome however when I arrived back to the finish area my boat was gone!
Ron had arranged for my boat to be water tested in there test lake behind the factory. It was hot beautiful sunny day as me, my wife and Ron walked down to the test dock. All Nautiques are water tested at this special man made lake. I could see my boat at the far end whipping around as I walked along the dock it sped in. I instantly recognized who the driver was...Andy Mapple the world Champion skier many times over and also one of the designers of the SN 200.
He is one of my all time favorite skiers ever and I was in shock! Also I was met by Roy Layton a Rep from PCM who make's sure all the engines used in the Nautique boats are up to top standards. He was a great guy and he is so knowledgeable on PCM products as well as boats.
We all climbed into my new boat and drove up and down the lake. It looked great but most of all it ran awesome! With this team in my boat I could ask any question that came to mind and have the answer right away. Wow wish I could order that option!! We went back to the dock and Ron asked if I would like to ski. I had only one answer to that and my mind was already racing back to the rented car to get my ski. With Andy driving and my wife sitting there snapping pics I slide on my ski and jumped in. It felt like a dream and it was a true honor to have him drive me and give me some tips on skiing. He was such a nice guy and so friendly. He had just come back from working in Mexico and still managed to come out to the lake for this special day.
I packed up my ski in the car and Thanked Ron and Andy for such a memorable day. As I drove down the long factory lane out of the parking lot I was still beaming with excitement.
There is a reason I have always bought Nautiques and touring the factory and seeing where my boat was born (while it is my baby!) has made me feel more pride then ever for owning a Nautique. I can't say enough good things about Ron Nace he has worked hard in keeping Correct Crafts commitment to satisfying the customer and providing them with the best there is to offer. His job is made easier by all the great people that work in that plant. I have very strong feeling they will continue to improve and made the best boats ever as well as stand behind there products
You won't have to ask me what boat I'm buying next!!!!
