I am upgrading everything again Got some new 1" hose, 1" anti-siphon loops, and rule 1100 pumps on the way. Once again Jason at wakemakers made it happen for me and did it all in style. He answered all of my questions and got me hooked up with a 10% off PN discount. All I have left to do is cut out the center tank and put in the ski locker sac in its place. He told me it will be at my house about monday.

Hopefully I can get off all this overtime I have been on and take a few days off to get the boat up to par with the shower, buffing, carpet cleaning and now ballast install. The ice just went out here, but I havent even got the boat out of the back of the garage yet. Oh well, something to look forward to next week though. I will take pics when the time comes and maybe do a write up on an aerator style install for a bit of cost savings over the impeller style for those interested After having the aerator style, I would never go back.

Yeah, I'm fond of the aerator pumps too. I'm using 2 Rule 2000's, one fed from a new 1" thru-hull and the other from the old 3/4" thru-hull. I mounted them on the old brackets from the original ballast system (2000 SAN). The only problem is that the old brackets are somewhat high and I have to move the boat forward to prime the pumps. I may take them off the brackets and leave them loose under the motor so they are low enough to stay primed.

I ran hoses up to the right console by the driver with the valves for the rear sacks (2 x 750) inside that hole (the one with the mesh bag). The valves for the locker sack and the integrated bow sack are in the ski locker. My switches are under the old radio cover that the 2000's had. Everything is controlled from the drivers' seat. I have an extra valve in the system that lets me put one pump or both pumps to work on the front or rear half of the system. This way (because the front stuff fills up so quick), I can use both pumps to fill those 750s in the back. Each bag has its own 700 gph baitwell pump for empty. I put my drain thru-hulls under the front tower mounts in about the position of the '03 210.

When I am done, I will have the aerator pumps with no valves anywhere. That is what is nice about using the antisiphon loops

How will you prime with anti-siphon loops on the intakes?

It hasnt been an issue. I have the same setup in the 3/4" sizing now. I ran it all last year with no problems. The pumps are in the same spot as factory and the loops are after the pump. Water still makes its way to the pump impeller via gravity and being lower than the water line, the pump takes care of the rest. The loops just keep it from froce filling or siphon draining. It worked great last year. I might mention that I cut the scoops off of the through hulls before doing this too. I retained the stock through hulls, they are just flat like the mushroom ones now.

Got the system installed and finished last night. I still have yet to get my boat out this year. It has been a bad year for work, been doing 65hour weeks for 8 weeks now. I am hoping today is my last day of the overtime and I can get the boat out this week or next weekend sometime. I will let you know how it works and fill times.

Every time I read a thread where Jason gave the 10% discount I get a little POed. I got all of my ideas for my system right here on PlanetNautique and I told him that when I bought my bags from him in December. In fact, we talked for quite a while, he was very friendly. But when I asked him about a discount, he told me there wasn't one - how do you like that? Maybe there wasn't a PlanetNautique discount in December '10?

Maybe it was sometihg he decided to do this year? Bummer you didnt benefit from it. I know he knew that I was a return customer after buying a bunch of stuff last year, not like that should mater.

You and I seem to be the only guys that use the aerator pumps on big systems. Theoretically they should fill faster than the impeller-type systems. I can't wait to hear how yours works. I guess mine takes about ten minutes to fill the two 750s and a 590# center bag. I need to time it.

I find that if I have people up in the bow, I don't need to fill the integrated bow sac.

I find that if I have people up in the bow, I don't need to fill the integrated bow sac.

liquid diet and I have 4 1200's filling two 750s, a 400 locker, and 650 bow sack.

We have a 1200 draining each sack except for the bow sack, we have 2 800's in each "leg"

All 1 inch hose (3/4 on the 800 drains and vents), no loops, just check valves.

We are trying to track down a prime issue on the one pump but I think its related to a "sticky" check valve.

Hah! I did the same as you except that I have one 800gph and one attwood 750 on the "legs" of the integrated bow sac (I have a bunch of old attwood 750s - the precursor to the 800). Unfortunately, I have the 750gph pumps on my 750# sacs in the back and it takes a while to drain. I love being able to just turn 'em on and forget about them.

About your thru hulls - I have a 3/4" stainless thru hull for each drain pump I drilled up under the front tower mounts and I used all of the old thru hulls (replaced with stainless) for vents. How did you do your intakes and drains?

The major change is that the two pumps in the rear for the 750 bags now each have their own 1 inch thru hull. We thought the old PVC manifold design was to blame for the pump not priming but it may be a check valve issue since we are running into the same problem.

Hah that's funny! I DID see your thread from before and used it to get many of my ideas for my system - the detail you posted was awesome and the schematics quite memorable.

I'm curious as to how hard it was to remove the old 3/4" factory scoop thru hull. I removed the old plastic one for the glovebox/icechest and because of the (5200 I guess) I had to break it into little pieces to get it out. What did it take to get the old scoop off the bottom of the boat?

My two Rule 2000's are in the old factory brackets. One is fed from the old 3/4" scoop and the other from a new 1" scoop I put next to the raw water intake. Because they are scoops I had to put valves on everything but I have them all within reach of the driver. I always get underway to prime the pumps - I guess I need to launch and turn on the switches to see if they will prime standing still.

I chickened out on the venting - each bag has a 3/4" thru hull for a vent AND a separate one for drain LOL! Actually, the integrated bow sac has 3 (two drains and a vent) - I was terrified of it possibly lifting up the deck or something!

You know the best part though - is that wake. I bless everyone who gave me the ideas to use the 750's in back, 600# locker sac and the integrated bow sac (if you need it).

Just wanted to bump this old thread and say that the system is pretty awesome. What used to be a 13 minute fill for the center 350# tank alone turned into a 4.5 minute fill. The back 440s took all of about 6 minutes to fill to capacity.

I am really happy with how the whole system turned out and the sheer speed and silence of the whole thing. The benefit of the aerator pumps are how silent they are, cheap initial cost, you can run them dry without damage, use factory wiring with no modifications to wires or fuses (except cut and splice of the factory connector clips if you so choose which I did, no auxilury relays or power wires to run power hog impeller pumps. I also got rid of all the cables and cable valves which was really nice. And a little FYI, the system cost $325 for 3 pumps, 45 feet of hose and 3 anti-siphon valves in a 1" size. I reused the center hard tank for now and I have a 440 in the starboard side and a 750 (for surfing) on the port side. I didnt include them in the cost because they would have to be purchased for any system. The 325 is for comparison for speed and price vs impeller pumps.
