Does your 2010 Sante 210 fit in your garage?

I am in the process of building a new house and have ordered it with 8 foot tall doors, the third car will be 9 feet wide (I know this will be tight) and the entire garage will be 24 feet deep.

Secondly, I purchased a 2010 SANte 210 with the FCT3 tower in January and it is still at the dealership. I have called the dealership and was told that with the tower folded down it is measuring at 8 feet 4 inches.

Do any of you keep your 2010 SANtes in your garage?

My 2010 did NOT fit in my 8' garage door. On that tower, the board racks are the high point of the tower when folded, and they would not fit in my 8' doors.

The 2011 tower folds lower, and the board racks come off very easily, so problem solved for 2011.

Problem solved except all the problems I hear everyone is having with the new tower. I also hate the look of the 2011. I like the FCT3, but you may need to go with a FCT2 Titan or FCT4 to get it in a garage.

Was it even close? I am trying to work with the builder to squeeze a few extra inches in the door. Do you think it would fit if the opening was 8 foot 2 inches or maybe 4 inches?

I suppose I might have to get a custom door, but it's worth it to keep the new whip in the garage.....

Nboard10, I believe it needs to be closer to 9' 0". My 2010 226 with FTC 3 tower folded was 9' 5" tall. Sound high, but that tower is deceiving. It sticks up SO high when folded. I ended up knocking the whole front of my garage off, re-building and adding a 10 foot door. The clearance inside was no problem at all, it just would't fit through the 8 foot door that was originally installed. I even kept the same door, just had the contractor add some sections to it. Hope everything works out for you. PM me if you want to see a pic of the re-build.

I have a 2009 SANTE 210 w FCT3 tower and an 8 ft high garage door. On my trailer with the tower down, I missed rolling into the garage by less than an inch or two. Boatmate trailer. You may be close...do you have a friend with an 8 ft garage door that you could try it on...so that you know the answer for your specific boat/tower/trailer setup?

If I had another inch or two, I would have made it in the door. If you can get them to give you a couple of more inches, you'll likely make it. Depends on your trailer and tires though. In a pinch, let some air out of the tires.

By the way, my 2011 tower has been rock solid so far.

On the width you better ask what the real clearance will become when you add all the trim.......your 9' wide 3rd car opening will become 8'-something. Can you make the door 10' wide for the 3rd car?

I've partially solved the problem using a larger drop hitch to get the boat out of the garage. Sad thing is I've got to change hitches to trailer down the road.

I am scheduled to meet the builder again soon. I have not signed the dotted line. My final requests are to try to make the door 10 wide and push for an 8 foot 6 inch tall door.
I am driving my wife nuts. She wants to pick out cabinets and flooring and I care more about the garage!

Jeff and Georges, how much lower did that make your boat when you used a lowered hitch? Were you able to then fit it in the 8 foot tall door?

The boat that I had at that house was a 1994 Ski Nautique. The issue with that boat was that the prop guard hit the pavement on the steep driveway. Never had an issue getting that boat in the garage itself.

I use a 4" drop which buys me ~2" (guestimate). It was enough to make the difference. I was in the market for a 210 but there was no way it would fit. I talked to Boatmate and they can custom build a trailer which allows a few more inches clearance. But don't have the same brainfart I did and buy a new Yukon XL. The larger wheels and higher frame push the receiver hitch 9" higher than the old Yukon XL. I've got to have a custom hitch made. I'm needing ~14" drop! Still better than storing outside, and it stay so much cleaner. Get the biggest door you can!

I don't have a 210 or a FCT3, but I have to squeeze my 211 with FCT through my 7' door by winching it in with the nose jack all the way down (and it still rubs the bottom of the door). No way I'd be able to put it in attached to the truck. My recommendation is go ahead and make the door big enough to eliminate hassle. I have 8' wide doors and have to fine tune my guide poles to get in. Not to mention, you may change boats in the future and the extra clearance might pay off.
