    Tower - clamp size ?

I know that my tower on my 2000 SAN is 1 7/8" in diameter, as was the tower on my 99 Air. However, on both, it seems impossible to ever get the clamps to completely close on things like tower speakers, mirrors, etc. when I use the spacers designed for 1 7/8" towers. I'm always left with an unsightly gap between the clamps. Is there some trick to this (other than really strong allen wrenches and a lot of leverage), or do people go with 2" fittings on these 1 7/8" towers?

    tower mounts

I just go with the more expensive clamps. Sampson makes a really good 1 7/8 clamp. Don't buy the one size fits all, buy the exact fit ones. The ones I have work perfect.

Never had a issue on my monstertower clamps or the wetsounds clamps, what type of clamps have you had issues with?

Kicker KMT6 tower speakers, Krypt wake racks, Krypt tower mirror, Flight Clips... everything (although I think the problem with the flight clips is the raised lettering of the words "Flight Control Tower" on the tower). They all work, I just am always left with a little gap between the metal clamps... as in I just can't seem to tighten them quite all the way so they touch perfectly.
