    First time skiing

A friend recently got one of those trainer skis for kids. I showed it to my son at the house and dragged him around the carpet and he seemed interested. It was a quiet weekend on the water so we decided to let him try it. I first pulled him along the shore by hand. After I was sure he was comfortable, we hooked the ski up to the boat. I stayed on the shore and made sure the front of the ski stayed above the water. The rest is history! My wife and I are so proud.

BTW, he has been taking swim lessons for the last year and a half and is very comfortable in the water. I'm sure that boosted his confidence.

I can't imagine doing this behind anything other than an inboard.

Congrats that is great stuff. When they get a little bigger, here is something to try next. Use these with HO tail weights to help keep the tips up while they are getting ready and while the are starting. http://hosports.com/vmchk/WATER-SKIS...-Shot-Trainers

Thanks for the link HS. Here's another picture of my friend's little girl. She did this for the first time too. Check out her Mom's expression. You could say she's excited.

All I can say is why we own them....Nautiques that is.

I love the pic of the little girl. I think Mom is happier then she is.

As for the skies with weights. They are great, just watch when they fall off they can sink to the bottom. Happened to my uncle a couple years ago. He put the weight on the tails and when his daughter fell, the skies came off and never were found. His daughter tells the story the best...We all laugh about that story around the camp fire.
