    2,800lb lift for a 196

Would you guys trust a fairly new 2,800lb cantilever lift for an '08 196? With fuel, it's right on the edge for capacity.

Typically, a 50% margin is built in on most production mechanical systems. Which means it's true rating is probably 4200lbs.

Thanks Shane. I think I can score a nice deal on one, and it's close to home. With the boat weight of 2650, I'm thinking my insurance would cover a 2800lb lift, should a disaster happen, but I'm calling them first, just in case.

          SWC,
We store our 91 SN on a cantilever lift that has a #3000 winch installed. When storing for longer periods of time, we try to get the lift as close to TDC as possible to make sure most of the weight is supported by the frame of the lift and not the winch cabling and pulleys.

Our preference it to drastically overdo it.

            6,000 lb lift.

              That's a killer lift TX!

              Mark,
I'm still waiting on those pics. I don't know that he's pulled it from layup yet? I just emailed them, telling them to get on the stick!

I have a friend looking for one and it would be close for him to come over and check it out.
