    2001 Sport Nautique wake?

I'm looking to buy a 2001 Sport Nautique as a surprise for my wife. My wife is a very good slalom skier.

    Will she like the wake?

    Thanks,

    John

It wont be a bad wake for slalom at higher speeds, but not as good as the smaller Ski Nautique.

Just curious, are you looking at the red one thats on ebay right now? That one looks to be in great condition.

We ski my sport nautique in our rotation at the slalom course, and I get no complaints. We rotate between an 05 response lxi, and a 00' mastercraft, and mine.

The sport is pretty sensative to weight, if your out for the morning slalom run, take out the rear seat, empty the trunk of anything heavy and dont fill up with fuel. Thats also our guidline for anything we are skiing behind.

What speed does she ski? We are normally 30-34 mph. You might also look at the brochures located on the site to check out the weight for that specific year. The newer models seemed to be heavier, but I dont remember exactly what year.

I dont have any factory ballast tanks, but do have a fct2 tower with bimini mount and usually have it up and the bow cover snapped on when we are on the course.

If you are looking just to ski, save some money and get a closed bow nautique built for it. However, if you plan to do some wakeboarding and surfing, the Sport should work well for you as a solid cross-over.
