Makes getting on and off the platform easier. Since day one the back seat on mine was wrapped in plastic and stored in the garage.

      rear seat

Ditto J2nh, same. Day one in a large plastic wrap up in the garage. Don't need it in the boat and don't need to step on it or risk a tear, rip or hole.

Same, why walk on it. I liked it when you had the 3 seat and you took the center coushin out. That made more sense. You really need to have a good reason to walk on the vinyl in my boats. I have to many rules, but people sure like my rules when I sell my boat to them. Actually I put towels down on the carpets each trip out.

Agree, the best was the 99. I personally wish they would have stayed with that design and skipped the rear trunk all together. I am always worried about someone setting a fin down on the upholstery covering the storage locker.

Ya - our seat was in for a total of 1 day, now been under the bed every since. On our 2006, the rear seat instead of carpet, has a plastic or fiberglass treaded serface, which I like.

The three cushions with the center reversible as a step was a stroke of genius that was discarded from production far too soon.
