Shipping a boat from California to Wash

I need to get a Nautique 206 from Palm Desert to Bellingham Wash. I am getting bids from Uship but does anyone know of another potential shipper? I may need to transport both the boat and trailer as the trailer isnt insured. Thanks.

We used USHIP. Our driver had to pull the boat on its trailer to us. 1800 miles away. It was that or we go pick it up. They did it cheaper than it would have costed us to do it ourselves. It helped that his driver was already out in CA where we purchased.

              Road Trip!

              CD,

That sounds like a great road trip opportunity to me. I went with my ski bud a few years ago to pick up his 216 he bought in South LA and brought back to Tacoma WA. Left Fri night after work, drove straight and got to the boat Sat, hooked up and home on Sunday. Was one of those male bonding trips with a stop at a couple of CA liquore stores for good measure. I know the total cost was way less than shipping and he had a chance to inspect boat before the purchase which you may have already had that chance. This trip was in Feb as well with a chance of some not so good roads but all was well.

Round up a friend or two and hit the road!

Agreed. NOTHING like a good excuse to take off on a roadtrip.

Another inexpensive option if you want to cut time and avoid the drive down --- fly down, rent a U-Haul (one way) with a hitch and tow it back. With the exception of the Grapevine in LA and Southern Oregon, that is a flat straight drive up I-5. I looked into doing this when I found a boat in Seattle several years ago and wanted to get it back to CA. The sale didn't pan out though...
