    Rare wake racks?

Hey all, I just bought the wake racks in this thread:

    http://www.planetnautique.com/vb3/sh...-for-FCT-Tower

I think I recall seeing this style once before in a post. Does anyone have racks like this or know their history? I believe they are OEM racks that CC used for only a year or 2. They look like the are spring-loaded and hold the boards in by pressure. Do they work well or poorly? Any info will be appreciated. Thank you.

    Buy, THEN research? Interesting tactic...

Sorry, my post is useless but I was looking at them too. Spring loaded look to me, seems like an easy failure but who knows...try em out and let us know!

Yes, I do things one of two ways... research and research and research... then research some more, or I buy on impulse. I need 2 racks, these were available. so impulse won the day.

hahahaha god that's funny, I do the exact same thing. Cheap A$$ most of the time but will drop a ton on some random thing here and there. I know how it goes!

I believe those are NVert racks that were for the 2003 boats and didn't make the cut. Discontinued very quickly. You will probably not like them.

            Pre-Flight Clips?

Pre-Flight Clips was my guess when I saw the thread, but that friction system looks similar to another board rack I had seen lately.

Yeah they were supposed to replace the flight clips in 2004 but they were not very reliable and I don't think they every made it to production ever. I think they also pinched fingers very easily.

Bottom line- you may get a year out of them but by the end of the season you will probably be looking for something else.

Well... I was looking for a 3rd and 4th rack for the rare times I have a large crew, so they might work for that. We'll see. Once Wake_slayer gave me the name, I did some research, and it looks like there were two versions. The 2.0 version was supposed to be quite a bit better built, so maybe I'll get luck and they will be v2.0. If not, live and learn.

No, I was lazy and did not scroll up to see that it was in fact you Wake_fun that told me they were Nverts. I always get you 2 mixed up. Don't take offense to it, I consider you both super knowledgeable and super helpful.
