I have an 07 220 and I think mine looks that good, maybe better.
Have you tried to see what it looks like with all factory ballast full plus the surf side 400 pound sac plus the bow sac full? Might be worth a try but all in all it looks very good.
I love the 220 for surfing! The one I had two summers ago was probably the best surf boat I have ever used.
I own and operate Silver Cove Marine, which is an inboard boat restoration, service, and sales facility located in Mooresville, North Carolina. We specializes in Nautiques and Correct Crafts, and also provide general service for Nautiques fifteen years old and older.
If we can be of service to you, please contact us anytime!
That's nice! Are either of those set up as "piggy-back" to fill from your hard tanks?
I have been thinking about modifying my surf setup from 3 sacs to 2 sacs, and setting the 2 up as a piggy back except I know I won't get nearly the same weight distribution that I have in my manual setup. One reason is the availaible height clearance in the port locker; the other is becasue of the weight bias achieved by placing a sac under the port bench as opposed to Fly High's Center Locker Sac (#721).
looks like it could use a little more in the bow and speed up a bit. wave looks a lil short but if i do remember correctly, the 220 is kinda like that. i havent spent enough time in one to where i could mess with it to my liking.
the wave shape is all personnel preference. for beginning, that right there looks like it woudll work well. short, steep face with tons of drive in the pocket ie you are not surfing all over the wave. as you get better or juts want to have more fun, load the boat fairly equal bow to stern, and speed up a bit. gps confirm speed of anywhere in the 10.5-12 range depending on weight. that should make it longer allowing you to go way back and work and pump forward. once you get the hang of really controlling your speed, you will find this super fun. as you can pump forward, air, stahl out, slaysh, kindof whatever you want and still have enough wave to get your speed back.
Agree on upping your speed a little. Maybe a bow adjustment, hard to say too much from a pic. i was out on an 07 220 two summers ago. With just stock ballast, one 400# bag, and no real adjustment it had a super steep wave. Took a bit of getting used to coming from my SAN, but was a blast to ride. Like riding on the face of a cliff...
Just play around a bit. Every ride and rider is different.
