    Engine Serial Number location?

So I dont want to sound like a noob (even though I am - check the post count...), but I just bought a 2003 SAN 210 and I need to get the engine serial ID number to the bank that is holding my loan. I checked the online manuals and found that it should be in the front of the engine block just below the plastic clover/flame arrestor. But I am not seeing anything... I found the stamped plate on the tranny, but not what I need.

    Any help or suggestions?

    TIA

Not sure about GM engines, but on the Ford GT-40, it is on a valve cover, and also on a tag, on the flywheel cover under the engine.

The boat manual for your boat should also tell you where it is.

Just went through this on my 2002 SANTE. Looking at the engine while sitting on the port side compartment hatch. Remove engine cover, the ID badge was located mid engine on the inside of the starboard exhaust. You may have to move a hose to get a clear view. Crude image stolen from the manual looking from the stern:

That's where mine was at least.

Be careful, if you are having trouble finding the serial numbers BECAUSE they are not in factory locations...or they do not exist on the boat.
There is a good possiblity it has been tampered with (could be stolen).
Best to dig into the history of that boat before you buy.
If you cannot find the vin, there are secret hull numbers as well.
That way you can call the factory and find out the engine number exactly.
PM if you need to know where they are.

On my 2006 SV2100 there was a label / tag on the starboard side valve cover on the intake side of the valve cover. It was hard to find because the wiring loom runs directly over it.
