Well, our first weekend/maiden voyage is under our belts. Except for constant winds, we were able to log about 7 hrs on the boat over 5 days. Very impressed and happy to have joined the Correct Craft family. It's been a long dream of ours to have a Nautique. Phil @ Buxtons goes the extra mile to get the deal done. As I was ready to leave the lot, I noticed the rear tire was rubbing the trailer fender. It took them 22 minutes including changing the paperwork to have me on my way with a different trailer. And it's not like they aren't busy around there. Lots of boats being sold.
One of my biggest concerns with a new boat purchase was fitmit issues in our dock and a Touchless cover that was made for our other boat
( 2003 Centurion ). As feared, the tower was too tall to fit in the up position. We ordered the boat with the Z-5 bimini, and one thing I didn't want to have to do was to remove the bimini each time the boat went up on the lift. It's a shoremaster air bladder type lift, and your limited since you cant stop the lift partially like a cable lift. With some trial and error, we determined that the tower only need to go part way down to clear. So I made some wedges from a 2 X 6, covered them with marine carpet, and now all we have to do is pull the rear pins on the Z-5, insert the wedges, drop the tower and the boat can go all the way up in the lift and the mooring cover fits as well since the tower and bimini are only partially down. All in all it worked out great. My greatest fear was having a new boat that wouldn't fit in it's summer home.
Overall we love the boat and can't wait for some decent weather without WIND!!
