Does anyone know what the stock speaker size is in a 97 super sport. My boat is in storage and I am trying to figure out what speakers I can put in it.
Thanks
I just replaced the speakers in my '97 Super Sport this past fall. I used 6.5" speakers in mine and they fit great. But be careful when doing this because some 6.5" speakers have a bigger flange than others which will make them harder to fit. You should be safe with 6.5" speakers, but if you can, I would measure just to make sure.
Jwat, Thanks for the info. Hows your ballast project coming along? I think I found the sacs I am going to use. Fly high has some new pro x models or something and they look pretty nice. I am calling them today for some pricing on the stuff.
Well, my boat is in storage, so I haven't been able to install it yet. I have all the supplies though!
I have launch pad 440's for each side of the engine plus 50 lbs. of lead on each side. Then I have a custom 700-750 lb. sac for the ski locker in the floor and another 250 lb. sac for under the open bow playpen seating. I have three reversible pumps that will run off a manifold that will come off a 1.25" thru hull that I am putting in the hull of the boat. I bought some carling on/off/on switches to control each pump/sac. It should be pretty sweet once it's done.
Hope the stereo works out for ya. I installed a new head unit, all new speakers, a 12" sub and a 5-channel amp this past fall. Let me know if you have any other questions.
