    Boat Rigging Suggestions

Allright, the wait is almost over! 4 months is too long to wait but the new SV211 Team has arrived at my local dealership (See shrink wrapped photos).

So my question is are there any more tips/tricks I should be pulling out of my hat at this point? I will be meeting with the dealership/rigger this weekend to review some speaker options and other details and want to make sure I get this right the first time. I can't wait any longer!

So far I have the following notes of things to check on over and above the normal things:

    1) Have the heater vents plumbed to specific locations (not dash)
    2) Have Fresh Water flush installed/tested
    3) Have Sirus installed and locate antenna in favorable location
    4) Hit all the screws and bolts with protective coatings
    5) Having the boat and trailer Teflon coated
    6) Doomed numbers ordered and to be installed by dealership.
    7) Spare prop to be picked up next week
    8) Last but not least call the insurance company

What am I missing? Besides the ballast pumps, what else should I put thru rigorous testing to ensure it works properly on the first try?

Lastly, does anyone have any patience to spare? I'm on empty......

    RE: Boat Rigging Suggestions

You lucky dog, mine won't be here for a couple of weeks yet. Mine will be blue like yours, my stripe will be titainum grey. Have fun.

I got a kick out of your message TylerO. I'm in the same boat as you, no pun intended. My SV 211 arrived at the dealership in early December. Take a look at my shrink wrapped beauty. Let me guess that your wife is sick of talking about the new boat and the kids roll their eyes every time you bring up the "new Nautique". Glad to know I'm not alone. Man, won't this summer be something...

Nautique211, you take the boat, I'll take the truck...

Try surprising yourself, thats what I did. Go all out, you take it from there.. 8-)

          Fatboy/Nautique211,

Well I feel better knowing you guys know what I'm going thru. The bad news is the anticipation only gets worse at the end. Now I'm just trying to get the boat rigged exactly the way I want it. I've been reviewing old threads and making notes on things to do/not do.

Of course my wife's priority is different. She's given me a new name "Two Boats" becuase I haven't sold the old boat yet and she's not going to let me forget it.

BTW- Nautique211 is that snow on the ground in your photo?

Nautique211, is that Son Watersports in Anoka, MN? I'm pretty sure I passed your boat last time I was headed to Minneapolis in Dec.

when you pick upyour boat test every switch for functions, check every guage, open up the bimini, remove and inspect all cushions for tears, inspect fiberglass for scratches, and of course drive the boat. Do not take delivery unless every option is installed and everything works. Service departments work faster before the sale.

                  George,

I'll take your advice. I won't accept it until it's perfect. I went the other way with my last boat and that was a big mistake.

                  Mike,

She hasn't seen it in person yet but she is disappointed in the blue from the photos. She feels "Midnight Blue" should be much more like Navy than the way it came out. She's over it though and is happy that I'll finally start talking about something other than the new boat! Much like Nautique211 mentioned above the family is sick about me talking about options and delivery dates.....

btw i have had really good experience with the local san diego dealer (m20) on numerous acounts...

-they got me a prop and kit over the xmas holiday (they are closed monday) when i dinged my prop. the owner went to the shop and got me a prop and kit for me at a very reasonable price.

-unplugged my impeller after i lost my strainer ( i am all thumbs). brought my boat down there at 4:30 ON A FRIDAY. the mechanic worked on it for for 1.5 hours and DIDNT CHARGE ME !!!!!!! WHOA>>>> I hooked up the mechainc with a case of beer and $50. this blew my mind... after this i knew i made the right buying decision

                    - got me the dash material for my stereo project from nautique....

i know there are some dealer stories ( it seems more bad than good) but good dealers should be recognized..needless to say he is the only dealer that i will let touch my boat....

 also major kudos to joey the mechanic..

TylerO - Thank goodness Vapor Blue looks much better in person that in a picture. I was a little concerned prior to delivery of mine, but was (and am now) very happy with the color now that I have the boat. I bet she likes it a lot when she sees it in person.

TylerO - Yeah, that's snow on the ground in my boat photograph.

Luke - You are correct The picture I posted was taken at Son Watersports. What a small world that you recall seeing our boat.

Summer is short in Minnesota, so you hit it hard between May and September.

TylerO If its not to late I would get a brake flush kit on thet beautiful DHM trailer. It allows you to hook a hose up to the trailer and flush the brake assembly with fresh water. I second Mikes kudos to M2O. They have always been helpful and I didn't even buy from them. I bought used and they got me all the codes and manuals I needed at No Charge.

                              Rick,

M20 has been great to me as well. Joey (Service Manager) got my boat just about completely rigged by Friday and then the rains hit. With any luck I should be test driving/taking delivery this week. More pics soon....
