    looking for a dashboard

    Hi,

I'm looking for the dash panel (no gauges needed, just the black panel) for a 1996 sport Nautique. Any ideas?

Mine is still OK, but the vinyl is peeling up from the edges. I'm in the process of gluing it back, and figure it could limp me through the season, but the rest of the boat is nice enough, I'd sure like to find a new dash panel.

    Thanks,
    PE

    96 Dash Panel

    Polar Express:

I am looking for the same thing - dash panel for 1996 Sport Nautique. Any luck?

I called nautiqueparts.com but they didn't have one.

    Thanks.

An upholstery shop should be able to recover your dash panel. I've seen it done with great results.

Thanks, but I was talking about the panel with all the switches, horn and starter (and I think Polar Express was as well). These seem to be available for other years, but can't find one that matches the 1996.

Good idea on the vinyl dash pod, however.

Well, I can find new switches, and transfer the gauges.. I was really looking for the actual plastic form, with the vinyl covering. I know the vinyl can be recovered, i've done that kind of thing myself before. The problem, is that the actual plastic piece has cracks around where the mounting screws mount the whole assembly to the structure.

What this means, is that before I can recover any dash panel, I need to make a new one that isn't' cracked... Also, I've done that sort of thing before as well, but for the effort, I was really hoping to find a NOS (new-old-stock) dash panel for a couple hundred bucks or so....

I get this sinking (no pun intended) feeling, I'll be making my own from a mold off the existing one.... At least that way, I can make it stronger at the attachment points.
