New Cover from Cover Sports!!

jmo, would you mind posting some pictures of the vents behind the windshield? I have coversports making a cover for me right now and I wonder if I should add them to mine. Thanks!

My experience with the factory cover wasn't good - it had faulty treatment and thus leaked like a sieve, and the nose wore through after one 3 hour trip from rubbing against the bow stop. I send it back, and purchased the cover sports cover instead. Quality is much better, it's reinforced in the nose with ballistic nylon , and has soft felt sewn in under the cover in high wear areas - where it contacts the windshield for example, and doesn't have any poles to deal with.

The cover sports cover is more expensive, but its worth every penny.

I had a factory cover on my '05 that I was not very happy with at all; however, I got the impression that the factory cover was pretty good at least in what I saw on a '12 200V this fall. I would love to hear comments from other members who trailer their boat using the current factory option.

NautiqueOasis, I think you are right. I got the new CC cover for my 2011 sport 200 but have only trailered minimally with it. It fits dang tight, is vented and has the ratchet strap system that cinches down under the rub rail. Also, the vents work to create a vaccum...works to suck air out of the boat as you trailer with it. Due to this, they tell, me you don't to worry about the chaffing (it does not have felt lining). I have had the factory covers in the past and totally agree with eveyone's comments regarding them, however this latest one is a pretty good step up. In years past, I used to keep a roll of shrink wrap to run strips over the wear areas before tarping....haven't done that yet on this one.

FYI - To be clear, I bought a "new" 2010 factory cover from the dealer when I traded in my super sport for the used 2006 ski nautique they had on the lot two years ago, the design with the ratcheting mechanism and the venting is really clever, too bad the cover leaked so badly I had 6 inches of water in the bilge from a overnight thunderstorm. I also had the back corner pop off while trailering. Granted mine was determined to be faulty by commercial sewing, but in comparison to the cover sports I would never go back to the factory cover.

The new factory covers (at least the ones for the G23) are awesome. My favorite feature is that they fit with the tower up OR down! I will be doing the majority of my towing with the 2013 PN G23 with the tower down and the cover on. I look forward to the reduced wind resistance as well as the major time saved cleaning the bugs off of the tower, speakers, etc.
