I called them in January and Brent did return my call...at the time he said they were about 2 weeks out between order and shipping

      Hey All - -

Just spoke to Brent - - he's been down and out for a few days with bad case of the flu - - trying to catch up........just an FYI....

hey quick question - he asked me...(JEFF please chime in or let Brent know if you can) - - did anything change on the 2012 model 230's from the 2011 models (only concerned with the deck and windshield) --- Thanks.

I think we've decided on going with the Cadet Grey color ---- our 230 color scheme is silver cloud hull / masters blue primary color / silver metallic flake stripe under rub rail with a Phoenixx Silver cloud tandem axle trailer - so I think the cadet grey will best suit this color scheme....

Just keep calling and leaving messages, they'll get back to you eventually. I bought one 2 years ago. At that time, it took a week to get a call back. He quoted 6 weeks from the time he received a check. It took about 8 weeks but was worth the wait. I did get a bit nervous after my check cleared, 6 weeks passed and I didn't hear from them. But after leaving a few messages, he called back gave me a ship date and stuck to it. Customer service is not his foray but he makes a heck of a cover! Two seasons on mine now and well over 2,000 miles towed, it has held up incredibly well and exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended, even with the ordering hassles.

          Hey guys,

Just got my cover sports cover tonight..

I have a couple questions to those of you who have nautiques with towers.

          1. While setting up to cut the rope, where did you have the initial buckle that brent installed placed? I am assuming in the centre of the horizontal zipper? Did you have the cover pulled tight and do one side at a time? I am assuming I would then cut the rope in the centre of the other horizontal zippers.

          2. Does anyone have photos of how the rear rope attachment is attached that has the metal tie down strap in it? Mine is the same rubber that is used on the bow.

I am take pictures if people do not know what I am referring too

          Thanks

            1) The rope will stretch overtime. As such I cut the rope to place the buckles as far forward in the zippers as possible. It has worked out well.

            2) Mine had two of these straps and attach on the swim step brackets on either side. I can't envision what yours looks like, I would need to see pics of the transom and strap to understand what you are referring too. Given your hull, I would think the strap would be similar to mine but it doesn't sound like it.

Did any of you guys get the cover with access panels/points installed so you can use the cleats with the cover on? I need to have my boat tied up at the dock overnight and hence have to be able to get at the cleats.

I think Brent told me cover sports does not do this --- he will send you pockets so you can cut out and sew them in yourself -- but I think he said they dont do it and also they dont recommend it as it reduces the strength of the cover ----(at least thats what Brent, or one of the workers from cover sports put in an email to me) --- but Im sure things change, and maybe they can or will do now -- just passing along what I was told at one point.

How long ago was that? I'm hoping since the layout of my 196 is far simpler (no tower) than most they can do it, otherwise I will have to look else where.

I was also told that cleat placement isn't an exact science either, so he could place the holes in spots that don't line up well. I tested this theory back in the day with my 196 versus my bro's. Our cleats were not installed in the exact same spot. My front cleats were not even the same distance from the bow, however they were close. Unless Brent had my boat, he never would've gotten it exactly right.

A pic with measuring tape should remove guess work.

I have an email into Brent to ask, and I had suggested if there were any measurements he would like me to grab. I will keep you guys posted on how it goes.

                            Hey guys,

So after working with Brent on getting the cleat cut outs installed, when I tried to give Brent the measurements of where the cleats are on my boat I realized there is no common reference point to accurately determine the height or vertical position on the cover.

Hence, I just had him send me the cover, I then marked with chalk the exact position for each cleat and sent it back for the final customizations, which came out great! I also had Brent put in two covered vents just behind the windshield, which look like they will be great as well.

My experience with the factory cover wasn't good - it had faulty treatment and thus leaked like a sieve, and the nose wore through after one 3 hour trip from rubbing against the bow stop. I send it back, and purchased the cover sports cover instead. Quality is much better, it's reinforced in the nose with ballistic nylon , and has soft felt sewn in under the cover in high wear areas - where it contacts the windshield for example, and doesn't have any poles to deal with.

The cover sports cover is more expensive, but its worth every penny.
