    Dale Hollow - houseboat spots?

We'll be renting a houseboat on Dale Hollow lake, TN in a few weeks and I'm trying to do a little preliminary scouting for possible coves to tie up the houseboat. We'll be operating out of Wisdom Dock and I've gotten a bit spoiled with some of the coves we've used at other lakes, Norris in particular. Any Dale Hollow experts have any secret tie-off coves they like to use (and don't mind sharing!)? I've had one buddy suggest a cove down near the end of East Fork which is a possibility, but is about a 9 mile trek from Wisdom.

Specifically, we've grown partial to coves that narrow down enough we can block off an end and use the sheltered portion behind the houseboat for our own "private" floating/partying area. It's also nice to be somewhat off the beaten path so we don't have continual traffic buzzing by and sending rollers through our camp. A relatively close marina for ice and wakeboat gas is necessary, as would be some decent closeby stretches for wakeboard/skiing runs. Maybe we're too picky, but hey!

    Anyone?

Launched out of Wisdom Dock last year. We went to the left out from the dock about 15min or so. It was narrow and well protected, but too short to get a full pass in.

Our houseboat "Nautique Oasis" is docked at Wisdom; as you look at the dock from the parking lot, we are down to the right of the rentals on a private slip on the left end of the "T". When will you be down there? I have some suggestions; PM me with contact info.

The place we always went to was called Shear Pin Pass or Hair Pin Pass, cant quite remember. It was great a huge cove practically to ourselves and cliff jumping. Its right on the TN and KY border.

Shear Pin Pass is a great place to hang out for an afternoon and do some cliff jumping but wouldn't recommend it for tying up a houseboat and skiing. The cliffs are on the Wolf River a little past Wolf River Dock (cliffs are on the backside of the big hair pin turn).

I think we've got some pretty good intelligence thus far for our trip. Hopefully weather turns out decent!
