    3/8'' plug, port side-just above the starter-Ford Gt 40

I just have a general question for anyone who may know a little bit about what should all be plugged up on the engine block. I went for my first ride last tuesday and had no issues other than my ballast tanks leaking/filling while I was at a cruise speed (helm button off and the brass valves were open).

Secondly, when I came back from riding I was cleaning and going over the engine compartment when I came across a missing plug (where I think a plug should be). No water while I was riding/driving came into the engine compartment but I feel like it should still be closed. Does anyone have an idea of what this port may lead to and whether I need to plug it up? Thanks

I think you will find if you stick a small screwdriver or something into the hole that it bottoms out. I believe that is just a mounting point for something that isn't used in that application.
