    Boat Towels

How many of you have Matching towels that go with your boat?

After the first few time's I took my boat out and everyone that came along brought there ulgy mis match towels, and it made the interior on my boat look like a shantie house I decided that when you were invited out with me you need not bring a towel. I would provide the towels. That way I can make sure they are all Red. All my friends would laugh at me with my matching towels, But now every one is in line, They all have there own Boat towels that match there boat. LOL, And yes my dock lines and ancor are all matching.

Being color coaded sure makes it easy to spot your own stuff,

    RE: Boat Towels

haha, as silly as it sounds it is nice to keep everything ship shape.

like who coils their anchor line or just throws it in a locker?

Grant - nothing wrong with being a little boat-proud!

all my bumpers, and lines match my boat. Still haven't found the right towels, looking though. The other nice thing is that they don't walk off.

        RE: Boat Towels

My wife found matching towels. We keep them in a plastic container (like a big tuperwear container). When we get done boating, we throw all the wet towels in the container. Wash, dry, fold and put back in container. Ready to go again. Container fits between the engine and the sides of the boat. Goes in the Excursion when we get to the lake.

        Repeat.

Also my wife is good with a sewing machine, so she put a hood (best way to describe) with a velcro tie that goes through the hole in the back of the drivers seat. Keeps the towel perfectly in place for the drivers seat.

Her next step is to put the N in the middle of the towel to match the seats. I bought her an embroidery machine a few years ago.

We also have matching changing towels. That is four towels sewn together like a poncho. You can get inside and change your clothes in the middle of the lake, Great for those cold days. Also good if you are going to diner on the lake.

Her winter project is a sewn together towel that fits over the bow section seats.

P.S. Moring lines, bumpers, match the boat. As I replace tow lines, they match also (anal huh). Its easy when your boat is white, onx, gray (cannot think of the CC name), and silver cloud (hull, main stripe, secondary strip, accent...ditto for the seats).

If there is interest, I will try to post pics of the wife creations.

Also, I find it hard to find towels that match my boat....especially when my collection of towels is generated from:
          1. People that leave their towels for us to wash....becomes our property at that point
          2. Towles that are purchased from Goodwill and yard sales....sorry folks, but the $$ goes for payments and GAS....

I'm anal too. I've had this blue and black sweater for years, and now whenever I wear it in the winter, I get reminded for being a loser. But at least I'm a loser with a Nautique. lol

I don't color coordinate everything, but when I do buy something for the boat, I try to get a color that matches.

On the towels though, I have gathered some really nice leave behind towels that others forgot to grab after a day on the water. I think I will just keep using what ever towels I grab, and keep acumulating leave behinds.

Though I do have a nice red white and blue towel that matches really well that I got when I was in Santa Monica.

just ran across this posting and got a good laugh. The first time I took my wife out on the new boat I confessed that I had bought three new towels in dark blue to match the boat. To my surprise she said "only three, you should have bought ten and thrown away all of those ugly ones you always take". Next time I am at Costco I will be getting the rest of my "boat towels". The new rule, only blue towes in my boat LOL.

                  Hey Mike,

wife came from Mervin's a few weeks ago with 8 grey towels to match the interior of my 211. on sale like 5 buck's each. I told her about this thread. So now I'm dialed!, now if only I could find someone local to sew in the CC logo!

Be careful with new towels and ski ropeswhen wet. The colored dye can come out and stain your vinyl. You'll know then how well your towels match the boat.

"Now if only I could find someone local to sew in the CC logo!" Wife into sewing. Buy her a Bernina...yes it expensive. Then she can sew them. Course one year after purchase I am still waiting on my wife to sew them. Her excuse....lets go to the lake. Hard to argue with.

Course you also have to name the boat and get that embroidered also.

Well, I have spent the last few years wondering if my "white" terry clothe towel fetish was something I should be committed for. Now after reading this post -- I am perfectly normal . I have some 8-900 white towels that I use rather than napkins or paper towels and then I have a sanitary function on my front load washer.

Now for my boat -- black, white, grey SAN 2004 -- I intend to have everything match but I thought I was going crazy and maybe getting a little extreme. Now, I love it -- I am excited about making my own mouring lines and getting some black dock buddies, bouys, etc... I am jealous to hear all your wives say "Lets goto the lake" that must be great.

Thanks for making me feel normal.
