    Gelcoat colore fading ?

Do some colors fade a lot faster and more noticeably than others? I assume darker will generally be more noticeable after 10 years? My wife, in klatch with other boating wives, thinks a red, such as Nautique's Fury Red will fade a lot faster than a medium or even dark blue. We're considering a boat that's Fury Red and this is one of her concerns (she also prefers the much more subdued look of Blue/Grey/White as opposed to Red/Black/White but that's another issue).

    Thanks,

Keep the boat waxed and polished, and you will never notice the fading until you have to do a gelcoat repair, 10 or 12 years later.

To answer your question.... yes. The darker colors will show ware quicker. To the same point, there are many ways to prevent this and even the darkest colors can be kept in good condition for many many years.

that maroon color tends to fade the most IMO.
