    Factory helm control valves

New owner of a SAN and I am currently facing a helm control valve issue where they fill while the bronze valves are open and I am riding...It is a 2002 SAN, all factory parts and the CC customer service department asked for photos of the valves. Being fairly inexperienced with CC I am unsure what photos I should send them, along with being unsure where the helm control valves are located. Thanks,

Hmmm..don't know why they want photos. The 2 "flow wrong" valves should be in the rear center bilge just in front of the engine. I have a center so there was also one in the ski locker just left of the driver. Just follow the cables and they should be easy to locate. My valves were black plastic valves slightly larger than your fist. I replaces them with the the newer red ones the cc sent me on the recall. Free & easy swap, but I still want to change them out for the electrical valves like some of the guys on this site.

If I am looking at the bronze valves, are the plastic black valves towards the stern or the bow of the boat?

changed mine out to brass solenoid valves this past winter, now just push button from the keypad. having used them all this summer i can say it was a MAJOR upgrade from screwing with those valves ...

Sounds right..and I may have had that mixed up, the original valve may have been the red ones…. BTW, I had to remove my rear seat to get to the valves.

the bronze valves should be right behind your thru-hulls, and the plastic valves should be after that (towards the stern, pretty much right under the motor, port side)

How much did the swap cost you?
