I have a 220 so i am biased toward them as a disclaimer. There are a bunch of threads on weighting a 220 for boarding and surfing if you search. I believe 06 was the first year of the 220 and the last year of reverse prop rotation (presumbably better starboard surfing than port) and the last year of the mechanical throttle rather than electric (drive by wire). I think it has the most usable space of any nautique, and I dont even use the funky middle seat and i removed the hinged cooler storage thingy on the port side. The negative of a 220 is that it is more sensitive in side to side weighting than the other models due to its modest beam (96") and deep v hull. However, that is what also gives it a large wakeboard and surf wake, it just needs to be weighted correctly.

I like a lot of things about the 220, but have you spent much time in a 230? Thing is huge and wide open......

True, but i didnt think i need to state that a larger boat would have more space, that is kind of obvious.

We have an 06 220 items above are all true but it's a great boat. A few quirks with stock speaker and amps so I changed them all. I love the newer towers and dash layouts but in terms of versatility this boat is solid!!
