    2000 SKI NAUTIQUE - value?

I am wondering what I could sell my boat for. I am looking into getting somthing bigger so I have room for me people ( super air). I also don't slalom much anymore since I hurt my back.
It is a 2000 Ski Nautique with New diemensions FCT tower. The boat has 84 hours on it. I personally wipe it down after every use and cover it. It is always on a covered lift. No problems with the boat what so ever. I would rate it as in excellent condition.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.Click image for larger version

Also how much more does a 2000-2005 Super air weight compares to mine? Just curious for my lift.

I'm the second owner of it. The original owner lived on a private ski lake in South Carolina. He was friends with Jeff Crouch (former national champ) who ownes the Malibu dealership there. He never used it because all the neighbors had boats too. So their were only 30 hours on it when I bought it.

Mid to high teens based upon others offered on http://www.ski-it-again.com/php/skii...gory=Comp_Boat & http://www.onlyinboards.com/. I am not sure if the tower adds much value on a SN. Jamie

Are the digital gauges still working? If so, the hours are probably true. If not, then unless you changed them before the digitals went out and are adding the hours from the digital to the analog gauge hour meter, the hours are a mystery.

http://www.nadaguides.com/Boats is a good quick source you can use to figure out a boats dry weight. http://www.nadaguides.com/Boats/2000...dard-Equipment lists your boat at 2340lbs.

It's about $10k, just let me know when I can come pick it up;-)

But serously, the typical asking price for a 2000 SN looks to be about $20k out there. This may sound odd, but I think the tower actually hurts the resale on a SN. I'm considering buying an older SN right now, and I click next whenever I see one with a tower. Your boat does look really nice though!

I agree. I'm in the same boat but no urgency. I'd like an old closed bow for my migration to two boats. When I see the tower I look away. But some might have an interest. It's kind of like putting big tires and a lift kit on a two wheel drive truck.

Nobody is going to pay 20k for a 2000 SN. If you get 16 i say you have done well

I'm just saying $20ish has been the "asking" price, from what I've seen. Heck, you'll see 1990 SN's for $10+k. I wouldn't pay $20, but it appears that's where people have been starting the negotiation process.

I think $16K--$20K is close to the range if it has a GT-40 in it and well maintained. But with that in mind, I haven't seen anyone mention the critical piece of info ... what engine? Also, boats go for more in certain parts of the country than in others.

If, in 3 weeks, I hear you sold it for $18K, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised.

Agree on the tower. It was a deal killer for me when I was looking for a closed bow four years ago. But everyone is different.

Boats are worth what one buyer is willing to pay and what you are willing to let it go for. When I was selling my 93 MC, I had a number of buyers tell me I was nuts and shoot low ball offers at me. I was nice and told them I wasn't going that low. But I was patient and got very close to my asking price when all was said and done in less than a month. Remember a buyer and a seller only have one chance to be unreasonable. Good luck.

Good point TX, I was just assuming GT40 as a given. Condition is so critical too. My brother's '07 196 has been so babied, that it still has the new boat smell - no exaggeration. IF he ever decided to sell it, the selling price would reflect. Anyone who has seen pics of TX's boat would also realize that it'll command top dollar one day. I've said it before, but I'd spend more to get TX's boat than likely any other TSC1, regardless of year. The right buyer will come along, and recognize the value of what you have.

I hate to break it to you, but it's not for sale.

And I'd be lying to you if I told you I didn't get a good deal on it four years ago. Not a steal, but a good deal. It was in very good mechanical shape, but it had some fade from being stored outside. I spent $2,000 on it within the first week I owned it on things like Perfect Pass, a new prop, gel coat detailing, and some trailer work. Over the next four years, I have easily spent a few of thousand on things like an upgraded rudder, new decals, a couple of replacement skins, a Coversports cover, stereo upgrades, ... the list goes on.

I wouldn't expect to get all of that money out at this point. But I didn't make those upgrades for the next owner. This is a boat I plan to keep for a long time. I enjoy keeping it looking good and outfitting it to suit me.
