Shifter no longer clicks into/out of gear

So, now that the motor is tight, prop is off to the propsmith for straightening, our next important item is the shifter. It used to click soundly when changing in and out of gear. Its now mushy. Are there servicable parts in the assemly that make sense to repair or is it just better to replace the whoe shifter assembly? Replace cables at the same time? is this the right kit for a 96 Ski Nautique? http://www.nautiqueparts.com/control...6boats-on.aspx
