    Calling dock and boat

Does anyone have any recommendations how to call someone on my dock or
boat from the lake house other than using a cell phone? For example, what is the longest range cordless phone that I could use for calling the dock? (dock
is 150'-200' from house) Or should I just use a two-way radio like I am sure I will need to do for calling the boat on the water. Any recommendations for a
    two-way radio?

Any reason why you recommend a CB radio over a FRS radio? Just curious.

In my opinion, the CB radios work better,

CB is going to have more range than a hand held talkabout but you will have to have electricity at the dock to run a base station there. Or put it in the boat and run it off of 12 volt

I think VHF is illegal for shore-to-shore. Not that breaking the law matters, I guess.

I saw a new personal radio the other day that had 30 mile range. Hard to believe but half that would be good.

Almost any FRS should work for a couple of miles line of sight. GMRS has a bit more power to blast through trees and stuff, has more channels, and offers 'privacy codes' which don't make your conversation private, but does allow you to subdivide a channel so you don't hear a bunch of other folks (if a lot of others on your lake are using them and have chosen the same channel you're on.)

depending on if your just informing them or if your actually needing to hold a conversation, we had the same issue and just mounted a large bell we found and ring it for example when its time to eat or whatever the reason my be, you can clearly hear it much farther than a couple hundred feet.we can hear it on the water a good ways away if the radio is up. but obviously if a conversation is in mind then that has no use
