compare sanger dlx vs sport or air

In the process of selling my 2001, looking for a boat to better handle the chop with and open bow.

How is the sport nautique in choppy water?

Does anyone have any first hand experience with a Sanger DLX?

What year did the Sport go to EFI?

The sport nautique handles chop very well, just be careful like always! Our Sport Nautique is a 1995, with an EFI, and when you put two people on the bow it is about 6-8 inches of the water. That is fine as long as you drive it correctly and dont let the transom wake get you.

So overall, the Sport Nautique handles chop and waves very well. Just dont load it up with a bunch of people and fat sacs like people tend to do.

Absolutely love our 2000 Sport Nautique. Handles rough water A LOT better than our 1990 Ski. The extra length is great for the waves, storage is a huge plus too. Great boats IMO

Thats what i forgot to mention! The length and width make it able to handle the waves better. Especially the depth it sits in the water is a bit more. So... not as bouncy i guess.

Anyways, they have great storage especially under the love seat.

You will be happy with a Sport Nautique. But, if you want it for skiing, i hear the earlier, like 96 and down is better for skiing.

One of the best all around boats for skiing and wake boarding...or whatever. Don't let the other posts fool you...it's still an inboard and not buttery smooth through chop. Have an adult ride up front and it smooths things out a little more. One thing I consistently notice is the quality of construction. I had a friend who had a competitor's boat and you could kinda feel the ripples on the water as the boat rode through the water. You don't get that with a Nautique. Another friend who owns a sea ray always comments how heavy the boat is, trying to push it around at the dock. He ends up moving more than the boat does.

Just watch out for the digital speedo and tach for 00-02? Mine is on it's second set and the speedo is practically useless. I always use the Perfect Pass so not a big deal. Also, you'll know if the gauges have been replaced by comparing the perfect pass hours with the tach. Also if they have a gray bezel vs black, they've been replaced with a newer year.

98 and 99 are the same hull with the older analog gauges. Put a FCT2 and some ballast bags and you've got an air nautique.
