I would not use marketing pics as an endorsement of how to use one's boat. They are there to make the boats look fun and pretty, but not necessarily how to use them. I've seen power turns on other manufacturer's videos, but that doesn't make them ok. Point-in-fact with respect to this ad - the 216 has a pop-up pylon specifically for pulling tubes and skiers. The fact they didn't use this aspect of the boat means the shooting crew very likely had no idea what the little silver knob was or why it was there. This video also implies comp vests are a good idea for recreation, including tubing. That is certainly not the case on my boat.
That said, not all tubes are the same, and while I probably would be willing to pull a small single person disc from the tower, I would never pull one of the massive four person behemoths from the tower. They generate tremendous amounts of drag. Not to mention I just dislike the darn things.
I do the same. I have the 210 and for whatever reason they didn't see fit to include a pop up pylon (unlike almost everybody else in the industry!). I've pulled two tubes with up to four people total from the tower without problem (so far at least). Man, do I HATE pulling tubes but my kids and all their friends are addicted!

I agree 100% . My kids love them but I hate pulling them.

Couldn't agree more, I feel bad for other boaters when I pull them. I try to talk them out of it as much as possible. And yes I pull from the tower, I don't have a pop up on my boat.
BTW- does anyone know what years of the 210 had the pop up pylon? I've seen some years that have them, but I'm not sure which.

since i dont plan on ever having kids, no tubing behind my boat. maybe once or twice a year from the pylon for filming. i can't lie though, when i was younger i loved tubing. my buddy and i used to go full throttle on the 205 d.d., turn hard, and see if we slid across the water or caught a limb and tumbled. oh to be young
