211 Boat Cover

I recently purchased a 2005 SV211 and I am trying to decide what type of boat cover to purchase. I see two options:
1) Have dealer put custom two piece cover with snaps along the deck just above rub rail. I am a little hesitant since I think the snaps may be noticeable and detract from the appearance of the boat.
2) Have dealer put standard custom cover with draw string.
Any suggestions or comments? I have attached some pics that the dealer sent me from another owner's boat.

I would prefer the drawstring myself. It works just fine and you don't have to look at all of the snaps. The one benefit to the snap cover is that you don't have to worry about the cover blowing off.

My snaps are on the underside of the rubrail itself. They are not nearly as noticable as the snaps in the pictures above, and I really like the way my cover looks when it is on. I'll dig up a picture in a little while.

My 211's custom cover will be done tomorrow, I will try to remember to take pictures. I could never put snaps on my boat, I hated them on the tonneau cover of my truck before I went to the hard cover. Maybe it's just a California thing but we rarely see snap covers on ski/wakeboard boats. The only snap covers we see are on the cockpit covers for the offshore type boats.

Because my boat stays outside all summer it gets a full side sunbrella cover, it's about a $1k investment but it keeps the boat looking new. I had debated getting a Rankin cover www.rankincovers.com/index.html but ultimately decided on having the cover made locally custom fit to the boat by a rebutable cover maker. My decision was based on my desire to have the cover built to my exact specifications, on my boat, and having the ability to have it modified if needed without having to send it back.

Mine snaps into the bottom side of the rub rail and wraps around to the undersside of the swim platform. I really like the look of the cover and it moves very little when towing. You can't really see the snaps at all, unless your looking under the rail.

The only downside is that some people have trouble with the snaps working their way out of the rubber. I've had two or three come out over 3 years....but a screwdriver, new snap, and 30 seconds later its back in...not a big problem thus far.

I'd do mine the same again. Another thing may be to put them in the fiberglass right below and next to the rub rail...not sure if that would work because of the angle, but it would keep them off the deck at least.

I hate snaps to begin with. The only decent ones are when they're on the underside of the rubrail, but I see problems with the cover getting beat up if you have your boat tied up to a dock with the cover on. I'd go with the drawstring. Since you have the tower, you can securely fasten it around the supports to ensure it can't blow off on the sides as well as tieing it down in the bow and transom.

I just remove a couple screws in the rub rail. Also had a draw string. Perfect. I would never let them drill in the glass

Here are some pictures of my boat with and without the cover. I really like my cover, and my next boat will have the same type cover with the same attachment configuration. As you can see, the snaps under the rubrail are not noticed unless you really look for them.
