2011 210 Transom Remote Placement Advice

I'm going to add a wired transom remote to my 2011 210 and wondered if anyone had any advice/experience on the placement. It will be on the port side (easier to run a wire to from the head unit) and can either be above or below the step. Above the step is further from the waterline but the surface has a curve to it. Below the step has less of a curve, but is close to the waterline. With full aftermarket ballast, my swim platform is well below the water so I'd prefer the higher location, but wasn't sure about the curve. Has anyone else mounted a remote in this location?

And it didn't come with a transom remote? Or are they giving you the option and installing it for you.....

No - it didn't come with a transom remote - and they didn't give me the option - I'm installing it myself. I've already ran the cable back to the location and am just trying to figure out the final placement.

I put one on out 08 210. it's right in the area you are talking about. been great. mine is below the step. i think that's a better area since there is less curve. here are two pics of it.

Place it on the back of the boat. Near the platform it is a useful place.
