No known problems. I've heard that the Apex is not as torquey as the Excalibur or the GT-40. It took PCM some time to get the Chevy block close to the torque curve of the GT-40. Personally, I'd look for a boat with either the GT-40 or the Excalibur.
The Apex powered nautiques I have driven, the apex is more torquey than the GT-40 out of the hole but slighly. Durabilty wise they are all very dependable engines. Before you buy the boat have it checked out by a mechanic and test drive the boat before you buy it.
