    Shout Out to CC

There has been a lot of bashing on here lately about CC. I'm not saying that any of it isn't justified, just thought I would share with you a recent positive experience I had.

I have a 2008 SV211 and this summer, my niece stepped on the end of the rear removeable seat and the seat broke in half. I never transferred the warranty when I purchased it used and was fully expecting to have to buy a new seat (even though the original was a poor design). On a whim, I emailed CC and explained the situation to them and sent them a picture. That same day they responded and after verifying the colour scheme, said that they would be sending me out a new seat within a few days and good to their word, it arrived about a week later.

After fighting with virtually every auto manufacturer out there on defects over the years (any of you out there have a newer Denali with those plastic chrome door handles that a 3 year old can rip off!!!!!), it is nice to see a manufacturer step up with no questions asked.

    My thanks To CC.

    Nice to hear!

I know about those door handles... I had to replace one on my old Denali XL.. Thankfully, they are real easy to replace..

I don't understand...That is great customer service. But why did it 2008 seat break in the first place?

I've got one of those seats. They are not meant to be stepped on, just sat on. The boat has a built in walk through to avoid stepping on the upholstery. It is only a removable seat.

          Now I don't get it.
It is strong enough that I can sit on it, but when standing I'm weighting suddenly more and it cannot handles this?

sitting only puts half yoour weight on the seat.

The seat is really a poor design in the first place. The one end of the seat is actually unsupported from below as it overhangs the bottom support by a foot or so. If someone steps on that part, the entire weight of the person is concentrated on that unsupported spot which causes it to break (its hard to explain without pics).

My point is not that design was bad in the first place (which it was), it was that CC went and resolved the issue with me with no questions asked when they really could have told me to just punt.

                Pressure = force/area.

The same force (body weight) exerted over a smaller area will have a higher pressure associated with it.

Presumably your foot has a smaller area than your a$$?

True, I understand the laws of Newton. But as I understand the hinges are broken and I cannot believe it differs if you stand (small surface) on a board or sit (large surface) on it. The board devide the forces. It only matterd where you stand or sit.
True about sitting is only half of the force because you legs take some away.

In the previous post I just made a sarcastic joke about the design of the bench.

Hey Laptom. I've not noticed posts from you in a while. I hope you and your friends (and brother?) are doing great over there. I haven't seen anyone in your network since one of the ODS guys came to Houston and I took him for barbeque. I invited them boarding should they return. I need to send them all a note because I resigned from my job at the end of my contract term...company going through big changes....not the ones I would make.

Winter is coming and water will turn cold....but probably still warmer than Holland in the summer
